      Dental Emergencies FAQs

If a tooth is completely knocked out, pick up the tooth by the crown (the chewing surface) and not by the root. Rinse it gently with cold water and gently reinsert it into the socket. If this isn't possible, place it between your cheek and gums, or in a glass of milk or saliva. Visit your dentist as soon as possible.

Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to the affected area. Collect any broken pieces of the tooth and seek emergency dental care immediately.

A tooth abscess is a pocket of pus that forms around the root of a tooth, often caused by an infection. Symptoms include severe toothache, swelling, sensitivity to hot and cold, and bad breath. Seek emergency dental care if you suspect a tooth abscess.

Practice good oral hygiene by brushing twice daily and flossing regularly. See your dentist for regular check-ups and cleanings. Avoid sugary drinks and snacks, and wear a mouthguard if you play sports.
