At Harmony Dental Clinic, we provides dental crowns & dental bridges to match the color of your natural teeth & restore the gap created by a missing tooth. At Harmony dental clinic in dubai and abu dhabi, we believe a radiant smile is a reflection of confidence and well-being. But what happens when a chipped tooth, missing tooth, deep cavity, or severe wear disrupts the beauty of your smile?

Dental crowns and bridges offer a sophisticated solution, restoring both the functionality and aesthetics of your teeth.

Dental Crowns

Stronger teeth and a beautiful smile.

Imagine a custom-made, tooth-shaped cap that seamlessly integrates with your smile. That's the essence of a dental crown. Crafted from high-quality materials like Emax or zirconia, crowns are cemented onto a prepared tooth, providing exceptional aesthetics, durability, and versatility.

Teeth Crowns are versatile tools used by dentists to address various dental issues. They strengthen and restore teeth affected by severe decay, cracks, or fractures, protecting them from further damage and allowing comfortable chewing. Crowns also support teeth after root canal treatment by acting as protective caps against breakage. Additionally, they can enhance the appearance of discolored, chipped, or misshapen teeth, providing natural-looking restorations that boost confidence and restore smiles.

Dental Bridges

A solution to missing teeth.

A complete smile is a beautiful sight, but missing teeth can leave you feeling self-conscious and affect your ability to eat and speak properly. Dental bridges serve as a bridge between natural teeth or dental implants, filling in the gaps left by missing teeth.

Bridges consist of one or more artificial teeth, called pontics, which are anchored to adjacent natural teeth or dental implants, known as abutment teeth. These artificial teeth are carefully designed to blend seamlessly with the natural teeth, restoring both the functionality and aesthetics of the smile.

Types of Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are made from different materials, each with its own advantages. The right choice depends on your tooth location, bite strength, aesthetic goals and budget.

Zirconia Crowns

The most popular choice in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Exceptional strength, completely metal-free, biocompatible and natural-looking. Ideal for back teeth and patients who grind.

E-Max (Porcelain) Crowns

The gold standard for front teeth. Superior translucency and the most natural appearance available. Preferred for cosmetic cases, smile makeovers and Hollywood smile treatments.

Porcelain Fused to Metal (PFM)

A proven combination of metal strength and porcelain aesthetics. Matches the colour of your natural teeth and is suitable for both front and back teeth in a wide range of cases.

Metal Crowns

Made from gold or metal alloys, these crowns are extremely durable and rarely fracture. Best suited for back teeth where strength matters more than appearance.

Resin Crowns

A more affordable option typically used as temporary crowns while your permanent crown is being fabricated. Less durable than ceramic or zirconia alternatives.

Same-Day CEREC Crowns

Designed and placed in a single visit using advanced digital scanning and chairside milling. No temporary crown, no second appointment and no waiting.

Types of Dental Bridges

Dentists use different types of bridges depending on the number of missing teeth, the condition of adjacent teeth and your overall oral health goals. Here are the four main types available at Harmony Medical Center.

Traditional Dental Bridge

The most common type. Two dental crowns are placed on the healthy natural teeth on either side of the gap (abutments), with one or more artificial teeth (pontics) filling the space in between. Used when you have strong natural teeth on both sides of the missing tooth.

Cantilever Bridge

Similar to a traditional bridge but anchored to only one natural tooth instead of two. The artificial tooth extends across the gap. Used when there is only one natural tooth available beside the gap. Not as strong as a traditional bridge and not recommended for back teeth.

Maryland Bridge (Resin-Bonded)

Uses metal or porcelain wings bonded to the backs of adjacent teeth instead of crowns, making it a more conservative option. Typically used to replace front teeth. Not strong enough for back teeth due to higher biting forces.

Implant-Supported Bridge

The most stable and long-lasting option. The bridge rests on dental implants placed in the jawbone instead of natural teeth, preserving bone and providing a permanent, natural-feeling result. Ideal when three or more consecutive teeth are missing. Implants require 3 to 6 months to fully integrate before the bridge is attached.

FAQs: Dental Crowns and Bridges

A dental crown is a custom-made tooth-shaped cap placed over a damaged, decayed or weakened tooth to fully restore its shape, size, strength and appearance. It covers the entire visible portion of the tooth above the gumline, acting as a protective shield.

A tooth crown is used to protect a cracked or broken tooth, restore a tooth with severe decay, cover a tooth following root canal treatment, support a large filling, cap a dental implant, anchor a dental bridge, or improve the appearance of a discoloured or misshapen tooth.

At Harmony, dental crowns are made from premium materials including zirconia, E-Max (lithium disilicate), porcelain fused to metal (PFM) and all-ceramic. The best material for your crown depends on the tooth location, your bite and your aesthetic goals.

Zirconia crowns are ideal for back teeth where strength and durability are the priority. E-Max (lithium disilicate) crowns are preferred for front teeth where superior translucency and the most natural appearance are needed. Our specialist prosthodontist will recommend the best option for your case.

With proper care and regular dental checkups, dental crowns typically last 10 to 15 years or more. Zirconia and E-Max crowns are among the most durable available and can last significantly longer.

No. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia so you will not feel pain during treatment. Mild sensitivity or slight gum soreness for a few days after fitting is normal and resolves quickly. Most patients return to normal activity the same day.

A traditional crown treatment takes two visits — one for tooth preparation and digital impressions, and a second to fit the permanent crown. Same-day CEREC crowns are designed and placed in a single appointment.

Yes. A dental crown is strongly recommended after root canal treatment on premolars and molars to protect the treated, weakened tooth from cracking under biting forces and to fully seal and restore its function.

It is uncommon but possible. If your crown comes off, keep it safe and contact Harmony immediately. We offer same-day emergency dental appointments. Do not attempt to reattach it yourself.

A crown covers the entire tooth and is used to restore damaged or structurally weak teeth. A veneer covers only the front surface of a tooth and is primarily a cosmetic treatment for discolouration or minor imperfections. Crowns require more tooth preparation but provide full strength and protection.

A filling repairs a small area of decay within the tooth. A dental crown covers the entire tooth above the gumline and is recommended when more than half of the tooth structure is damaged or when a filling is no longer sufficient to restore the tooth.

Yes. Once your permanent crown is fitted you can eat normally. Avoid biting very hard foods such as ice, hard sweets or bones, and avoid sticky foods that could dislodge the crown.

Brush twice daily and floss carefully around the crown margin at the gumline. Avoid biting hard objects. If you grind your teeth at night, ask your dentist about a custom night guard. Visit Harmony every six months for checkups and professional cleaning to extend the life of your crown.

A dental bridge is a fixed restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth. It consists of one or more artificial teeth (pontics) anchored to the natural teeth or dental implants on either side of the gap (abutment teeth). The result is a seamless, natural-looking replacement that restores your smile and bite function.

The main types are traditional bridges (anchored to two natural teeth), cantilever bridges (anchored to one tooth), Maryland bridges (bonded to the backs of adjacent teeth) and implant-supported bridges (anchored to dental implants for a more stable, permanent solution).

A dental bridge is suitable for patients who have one or more missing teeth with healthy natural teeth or implants on either side of the gap. Your dentist will assess your bone health, gum condition and overall oral health to confirm suitability.

A dental implant replaces the tooth root with a titanium post placed in the jawbone, topped with a crown. A dental bridge uses the adjacent natural teeth as anchors and does not require surgery. Implants are generally more durable and preserve jawbone, while bridges are a faster, non-surgical solution.

A well-maintained dental bridge typically lasts 10 to 15 years or more. Implant-supported bridges can last significantly longer. Regular dental visits and good oral hygiene are essential for longevity.

No. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia. Some sensitivity around the abutment teeth for a few days after fitting is normal and settles quickly.

Use floss threaders, interdental brushes or a water flosser to clean underneath the bridge and around the abutment teeth daily. Your dentist or hygienist at Harmony will show you the best technique for your specific bridge.

There may be a brief adjustment period as your mouth adapts to the bridge. Most patients adjust within a few days and find that the bridge actually improves speech clarity compared to having a missing tooth.

Leaving a gap from a missing tooth can cause the adjacent and opposing teeth to shift out of position, leading to bite problems, bone loss in the jaw, gum disease and further tooth loss over time. A dental bridge or implant restores the gap and prevents these complications.

Yes. Extended bridges can replace multiple consecutive missing teeth. For larger gaps or full arch replacement, an implant-supported bridge or All-on-4 solution may be more appropriate. Our specialists will advise the best option for your case.

Dental bridges are fixed and cemented in place — they are not removable like dentures. They are a long-term restoration and feel like natural teeth. They may need to be replaced after many years depending on wear and condition.
